Fonds 1818

Het Nutshuis is home to Fonds 1818, an organisation that provides funding, advice and inspiration to support social projects.

From sympathetic initiatives started by local people to major projects that make a real difference; foundations, associations and groups of residents with a good social plan are welcome to apply for backing. The fund operates in nineteen municipalities, from Lisse to Westland.
 
Fonds 1818 evolved from the Hague Nutsspaarbank, and like this bank, its ideology is based on that of the Maatschappij tot Nut van ‘t Algemeen, an organisation set up to support the position of the ‘common man’.
