A sultry portrait of young people in Transnistra. This tiny state unilaterally declared its independence from Moldavia after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Unfortunately, no-one has officially recognised it as such. Before being swallowed up by the adult world, a group of friends spend a summer in each other’s company. Will they stay or will they go? Combined with electronic music, the Swedish director’s intimate shots seem to suggest that this idyll will be short-lived. Life is ultra-fleeting in a country that doesn’t seem to exist. Earlier this year, the documentary was awarded the VPRO Big Screen Award at the International Film Festival Rotterdam.
